Paraostial Bladder Diverticulum vs. Ectopic Ureteral Orifice, Posterior Urethra

Left picture: Here, the diagnosis is a paraostial diverticulum of the bladder of the left side. Notice near the border of the picture a zone of redness at 7 o´clock with a barely visible ureteral orifice. Right picture: In this case not a diverticulum of the bladder is present as in the contralateral picture, but an ectopic entrance of the right ureter in the posterior urethra. Notice the seminal colliculus in the midline at 6 o´clock.

Left picture: Endoscopic finding of a circumscript eventration of the bladder wall at the border of the trigonum. The indication for cystoscopy were recurrent urinary tract infections with and without hematuria. Right picture: Endoscopic finding of a localized eventration of the posterior urethra, which is marked by a ureter catheter. Like in the contralateral case, a recurrent urinary tract infection with and without hematuria was the reason for the work-up examinations.
