Cleft Lip vs. Facial Cleft
Cleft Lip vs. Facial Cleft Left picture: Here, the diagnosis is a bilateral cleft lip palate.
Right picture: The diagnosis is median facial cleft, in this case combined with a common partial cleft palate.
Left picture: In this case bilateral fistulas of the lower lip are present which may also occur as an isolated malformation. In both young infants a seeming midline cleft is present; nevertheless, the width of it is different.
Left picture: On looking closely, the cleft proceeds on both sides of the prominent premaxillary.
Right picture: This cleft runs exactly in the midline to the columella. The anterior midline structures are intact; there is only a partial cleft palate at the back as shown in the picture at the bottom.
