Natural History/Differential Diagnosis (Congenital Cysts and Sinuses)
The synopsis shows the differential diagnosis of congenital cysts and sinuses.
The natural history of congenital cysts is not uniform because some of them increase to reach a clinically recognizable size after a delayed accumulation of secretions late in childhood and even in adulthood. This has to be considered in the differential diagnosis especially in teenagers. Therefore, the diagnosis of such congenital cysts may not be diagnosed until the second decade or adulthood.
