White Spot of the Chest Wall
2.9-year-old boy with a large white spot on the left lateral chest wall which lies between the lower border of the thoracic cage and the flank. Within the lesion there is an annular zone at the periphery with multiple dark red spots.
It is a state after a subcutaneous and cutaneous hemangioma which - due to a spontaneous thrombosis and regression - resulted in a mere scar with some peripheral and residual cutaneous hemangioma . The case illustrates the tendency of hemangioma to regress spontaneously, which may occur up to the age of five years at the latest.
