Large Belly (Nephroblastoma)
3-month-old boy with a very large abdomen the level of which lies above that of the thorax. The abdomen's length is three to four times as large as that of he thorax; its width twice that of the abdomen.
The cause of the large belly is a Wilms' tumor which crosses the midline and is palpable as a huge mass.
A large belly may have multiple causes; in a palpable mass an additional increase of volume may be caused by ascites, meteorism or ileus following compression. $$tuab_2??££Picture for comparison with the preparation of the tumor.§§
