Types/Clinical Presentation 4 (Inguinal Hernia)
Operative findings in a 6-month-old girl with a clinically irreducible inguinal hernia of the right side.
There is a large, longitudinal, and oval mass with a violet black discoloration, and irregular tubular structures of the same color on the right side of the infant.
The opened hernia sac (whose the border is being grasped by 4 forceps) contains the irreversibly injured right ovary and fallopian tube. The adnex is swollen due to the impairment of blood supply with venous congestion.
