Pale Scrotal Swelling (Nephrosis/Nephrotic Syndrome)
11.7-year-old boy with a scrotal and testicular swelling which is more pronounced on the right side. The skin is non-irritable, exhibits no redness (is pale), swollen without skin folds, and the volume of the scrotum is increased by fluid accumulation within the sheath of the testis.
In this case the scrotal and testicular swelling is identical to the pale edema of
the eye lids and of the skin caused by a nephrotic syndrome with a hypoalbuminemia.
