Clinical Presentation (Hirschsprung´s Disease)
List of the clinical presentations of Hirschsprung's disease.
The main form of clinical presentation or the most important leading symptom depends on the age of the patient. In 90% of the neonates discreet symptoms are in the forefront which are listened in obst_8En_n.jpg. Ileus of the newborn and spontaneous intestinal perforations (= acute abdominal emergencies in the newborn) constitute the residual 10%.
In infants mainly constipation is observed, which may be discreet in case of feeding exclusively with mother's milk. The former is also true for toddlers and schoolchildren.
Enterocolitis occurs mainly but not exclusively in neonates and is responsible for a possible mortality.
