Medium-sized Form (Omphalocele)
1-day-old boy with a middle-sized mass in front of the abdomen.
The blurred omphalocele sac allows to see only in its upper part some intestinal loops. The base of the omphalocele is broad; it is medium-sized and corresponds to the volume of the belly. In this case the umbilical cord has an insertion on the pole of the mass.
The diagnosis of a middle-sized omphalocele is obvious because the abdominal content is hidden by a sac and held in a rounded form.
