Posterior Urethral Valves
Possible access to the posterior urethra in boys. After splitting the suprapubic lower abdomen including the symphysis, the anterior wall of the urethra is opened and retracted by stay-sutures.
The colliculus and the crista urethralis folds are visible which run to both sides and have a shape like a swallow's nest, the typical appearance of posterior urethral valves. This access not often applied in children is used here for didactic reasons to illustrate the site and anatomy of the posterior urethral valves.
