Mass beyond the Scrotum (Cryptorchidism)
3-month-old infant with a visible and palpable mass lying beyond and below the right scrotum.
The diagnosis is perineal ectopia of the testis. Notice the scarcely developed right scrotal half.
Although in an infant born at term the testicular descent may be finished in the single case not until the end of the first year of life, at the age of 3 months a cryptorchidism must be considered if the empty scrotum is not well developed in comparison to the contralateral side.
