Type 5 (Reflux, Hiatus Hernia)
Esophagogastrography: Following the filling of the stomach, again a reflux of contrast is visible which fills a cavity of minimally 3 vertebral body lengths and the middle third of the esophagus thereafter.
It is a far cranially reaching gastroesophageal reflux and a large hiatus hernia in a nearly 8-year-old boy. Notice the broad gastric folds at the transition zone of the fundus to the epiphrenic gastric pouch which is proof that a hiatus hernia is really present while the smooth contours of the esophageal wall do not support a severe esophagitis.
