Posterior Type 2 (Hypospadias)
4.2-year-old boy with abnormal external genitals. The fingers are spreading the prepuce which is divided on its ventral side and has a shape like a cape, and are pulling the penis to the top. The orifice lies between the two scrotal halves and is canulated.
The diagnosis is scrotal hypospadias. The picture shows distinctly the divided prepuce, the common sign of hypospadias; in spite of traction to the penis, the tilting of the glans in the direction of the perineum and the transparent abnormal initial part of the urethra is recognizable which must be removed prior to the urethral reconstruction.
This transparent and abnormal initial part may have an influence on the length of the necessary urethral reconstruction in anterior types of hypospadias.
