Anterior Type 2 (Hypospadias)
4.7-year-old boy with a curvature of the penis and a striking aspect of the ventral glans side. The prepuce is divided, the penis curved, and besides a depression of the glans tip, two openings are visible more proximally.
The diagnosis is anterior hypospadias, or more precisely, coronary hypospadias.
In fact, the openings visible more distally are not orifices but superficial fistulas often encountered in hypospadias. During surgery, initially an artificial erection should be performed to exclude a real curvature of the penis shaft; theoretically, the curvature of the penis may be caused by the frequently observed tilted glans in anterior hypospadias.
