Irregular Tumor (Interlabial Mass)
gebl_20a_n.jpg: 4.5-month-old girl with a large, yellowish, and irregular intralabial mass.
gebl_20b_n.jpg: Endoscopy in an analogous case of a 10-month-old girl with
vesicular masses of different size and shape.
gebl_20a_n.jpg and gebl_20b_n.jpg: In both cases the diagnosis is rhabdomyosarcoma (botryosarcoma) of the bladder which is spreading by the urethra to the vulva. The irregular shape and the lobular grape-like surface on close observation is characteristic for this malignant tumor (compare with gebl_18_n.jpg).
25 % of rhabdomyosarcomas are localized in the urogenital system; in girls
in the bladder, uterus, vagina, and vulva. They are one of the most frequent causes of genital bleeding in infants and toddlers.
