Sternocostal (Morgagni) Hernia (Congenital Diaphragmatic Hernia)
View from the opened thoracic cavity on the diaphragm. A triangular opening is visible whose borders are held with three forceps.
It is the hernia sac of a sternocostally situated left Morgagni diaphragmatic hernia in a 3-year-old girl with Turner syndrome. Notice on the left in the picture the lung held to the side, the phrenic nerve running over the diaphragm in a lateral direction, and the cranial end of a liver process within the hernia sac !£atno_6_p£!.
